Reside Interiors is a full service interior design firm in Birmingham, Alabama that has worked on projects nationwide. Reside Interiors expounds on the basic design principles to create a space that is unique to each client and designs a space that is functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Danice Bulls, owner and principal interior designer, graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design and a minor in Business. Upon graduation, Danice was a resident of Huntsville, AL for 7 years and worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers. While working at the Corps of Engineers, Danice supported the ADMIN and Integrated Medical Furniture programs and had the privilege to work on Headquarter Buildings, Dental Clinics, Training Facilities and The US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases. The knowledge gained at the Corps of Engineers was invaluable and allowed Danice to gain insight into the contractual side of interior design.

Danice tends to have a minimalistic and contemporary approach to design, and likes to incorporate nods to the Mid-Century and Art Deco periods. Danice is typically drawn to neutral color palettes with pops of color and bold patterns. She also enjoys creating dramatic rooms with saturated color on the walls and a neutral palette on the furniture.

Inspiration is all around, in the beautiful colors from nature, in classic and modern architecture, patterns, prints and texture on fabric, the lines of furniture and grain pattern in wood.

A ‘one design fits all’ approach to design does not exist. There’s a plethora of great, iconic styles to limit a design to just one style, so creative ways to blend design styles through color, texture, artwork, furniture, accessories and lighting are always utilized. Each piece that is curated for the design has its own story and contributes to the overall aesthetic. The key to great design is finding the balance in all the various elements.

“I love to incorporate the clients’ individual pieces whether they’re heirloom pieces, a trinket from travel or just a rare find from a shopping trip. The challenge that always excites me is finding innovative ways to integrate functionality, needs, and desires into a cohesive design and giving clients an end result they’re ecstatic about.”

Danice is currently a resident of the Birmingham area and is in the process of expanding Reside Interiors to surrounding areas. She is passionate about creating bespoke interiors that are welcoming and full of character.
